Not much to add this week apart from a few images. I’ve been on training courses at work (nasty IT stuff rather than interesting Photography stuff) and haven’t had much time to update the blog. Add to this a new computer, and the massive job of swapping everything over, and the number of minutes in the day has reduced dramatically…
One thing I did do though was to download a trial of Nik software’s Silver Efex Pro 2 for a quick play, which was much fun!
The images below were all taken about ten minutes away from my house. Whilst dropping my wife off at work I noticed the lovely early morning mist, and couldn’t resist a quick stop-ff on the way home to take a few snaps.
All these images required very little post processing. All were based around 5-8 stop HDR shots that were then converted to black & white in Silver Efex Pro 2.
And I have to say that when one talks about B&W plugins on Photoshop, there are many that would say “don’t bother”, because the black & white conversion tools within photoshop are excellent.
However in the cases below, the conversion took less than a minute with Nik’s plug-in, and I have to say I’m impressed with the final results.
I hope to do a more in-depth review of the features of this plug-in at a later date, but for now, here are a few shots taken this morning…
